44-Day Fast for Building Funds
Our vision is to have a home space to not only have our Sunday gatherings and mid-week small groups, but also to serve the surrounding community as a missional outpost of sorts. We believe that followers of Jesus should be determined to not only talk about Jesus and spread the Gospel, but to represent Him by serving our neighborhoods and townships. We hope to fight for justice where there is injustice, and to bring provision where there is lack.A few possible ways we hope to use a building to do this:
- Teach English as a Second Language Classes
- Tutor teenagers from high-risk neighborhoods
- Hold support groups for women and couples in crisis pregnancies
- Allow AA and NA groups to meet
- Provide marriage restoration coaching
- Start a food pantry
- And more!
In order to make sure we are not over-extended on a mortgage and in order to make sure we can continue to give 25% of our income to missions (and increase that percentage every year), we need to be in a position to make a cash offer of up to 2 million, and then we won't have to mortgage more than one million for renovations without it affecting our missions giving.
We are praying for that 2 million to come in by April 30th so that we can move on to the next step in our search for a home-base missional outpost.
This is a ridiculous prayer! One that will only happen if God does the miraculous and moves hearts and opens big doors.
This is why we are calling our church to a 44-day fasting and prayer campaign. Our goal is to have at least one person fasting everyday between March 15th and April 30th (minus April 1st & April 2nd for a Good-Friday Lent Fast, and minus Easter Sunday).

WHAT WILL THIS LOOK LIKE? WHAT FOODS AM I SUPPOSED TO GIVE UP?
Since everyone is different and have different levels of experience with fasting, we have three recommended “versions” of this fast, based on what you are used to. Just choose one and give it a try.
*VERSION 1: JUICE FAST
Blend celery, carrot and apple together and drink throughout the day. *We don’t recommend just any kind of juice, especially if it’s very sweet fruit juice, because that could cause blood sugar crashes, jitters, and more cravings. In other words, the less sweet the easier it will be on your body.
*VERSION 2: BONE BROTH FAST
Drink bone broth only.
*We recommend this brand of bone broth, which you can find on Amazon or Whole Foods, since some other brands taste really bad: Epic Artisan Bone Broth.
*VERSION 3: WATER-ONLY FAST
Don't drink anything other than water, unsweetened herbal tea, and maybe a little unsweetened black coffee (go easy on this or you could give yourself a stomach ache).
Then there are other kinds of fasts like a fat fast, a wheat-grass fast, etc.. It doesn’t matter to use which fast you choose, and nobody will be checking to see how closely you follow it. We just ask that you fast in some way from food if you’re going to do this with us (verses social media or something like that).
Be sure to set aside a few times throughout the day -- like when you would normally eat -- to make time to seek God and ask God to move in hearts and open doors.

IS THIS SAFE FOR MY HEALTH?
While everyone’s bodies are different, and we are not your health care provider, science is more and more showing how beneficial fasting is for numerous ailments and imbalances in the body (something Scripture has pointed to for a very long time).
